Update: Session 2 speaker change. Andy Talbot will present his Windows 10 session at a later user group. Paul Hunt will be presenting on Office 365 identity instead.
Our second meeting of 2018 has been announced. Thursday 17th May 1800 hrs for 1830 hrs start at Microsoft’s new venue – The Reactor in Shoreditch.
For this meeting, we’ll be branching out and taking a look at complementary technologies in Microsoft 365, the marriage of Office 365 and Windows.
First up, Al Eardley will be presenting.
We all have to-do lists, many of us work on projects, and we all work in one or more teams. Microsoft has been kind enough to provide many tools to help us manage tasks, some may say too many tools. They all have different strengths and weaknesses, which make them appropriate for different scenarios.
This session explores some of those tools, including Exchange, Planner, Project, Dynamics 365, Visual Studio and To-Do. They will be compared and contrasted within the context of authentication, collaboration, interfaces and integration.
This session will provide an insight into the strengths and weaknesses of the tools so that you can better assess your needs and choose the best tool for the job.
We’ll then have a short break for Subway sandwiches provided by Microsoft, then Paul Hunt will be presenting:
This session is a level 200 session aimed at ITPros looking to leverage the basic Microsoft identity management options for Office 365, that can be established with minimal cost to the Enterprise. We’ll look at the available authentication mechanisms – Cloud, Synced Identity and Federated Identity with a view to understanding the pros and cons of each as well as an understanding of what is required to establish each into an organisation.
We’ll look at how each of the options scales to meet the needs of the enterprise and how things like group based licensing can help address some of the management concerns.
When completing the booking form, please give your first and last name and ensure you complete a registration for each attendee.
Although food will be provided by Subway (thanks to Microsoft) and will include vegetarian options, we cannot provide for every dietary need. You are however very welcome to bring your own food and soft drinks to the event.
