Office 365 User Group (Yorkshire) – The pillars of Office 365 and Tips for SharePoint Framework development

Introduction

One of the challenges with running a user group is trying to keep everyone happy. We wanted to try something a little different where we make the user group more accessible so we have decided to splitting the night into two parts.

Part 1 is an introduction to Office 365 and Part 2 is a deep dive into Office 365.

So please join us, there will of course be SharePint afterwards and food provided at 19:30.

Sessions

1. Office 365 101 – Understanding the pillars of Office 365 (Simon Hudson – Cloud2)

Hot from his recent Ignite visit, Simon Hudson will take you through the pillars of Office 365. This is the first of a series of talks aimed at bringing people new to Office 365 up to speed with the services and capabilities available in Office 365.

The session will give you an overview of all the Office 365 suite components and will discuss:

  • Function
  • Maturity
  • Overlap

With the aim of helping you understand where to start to get the most value of out of the Office 365 platform.

2. Deep dive – Tips for SharePoint Framework development (Simon Doy – iThink SharePoint)

In this session, Simon Doy, will give you some tips when building real world SharePoint Framework solutions for Office 365. After a recent project Simon has learnt a few tricks which he would like to share.

Areas of discussion will be around:

  • Building reusable components.
  • Structuring your code.
  • Version control.
  • and more.

The session will have plenty of demos showing you problems and how to solve them.
