SharePoint User Group (London)
Microsoft, Paddington
24/11/2016 from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

It’s our last event of 2016! The September event smashed it clean out of the park with two legends of the SharePoint world and a sell-out crowd. For November we’re raising the bar even higher. “Legend”, doesn’t even come close to describing our two speakers who between them have clocked up an astonishing 24 years as MVP’s. I’d call them the “Grandfathers” of SharePoint but I suspect my demise would be slow and painful đŸ™‚

Once again we’ll be returning to Microsoft’s shiny new offices in the heart of the Metropolis.

PLACES ARE STRICTLY LIMITED. We’re releasing 100 tickets but for health and safety reasons we can only admit 60 people. From previous experience we estimate that this will work but please be warned that if you arrive late there is a slim chance that you might find all the places gone! We’ll post updates on the night Twitter using the #suguk hashtag.

This event wouldn’t be possible without the support of our SharePoint community friends at Combined Knowledge and Provision Point who between them cover the costs of the venue and the pizza’s. At London prices that’s no small amount so a massive thank you to them.

Steve Smith – “SharePoint implementation considerations for every SharePoint Administrator”
In this session I am going to go through a bunch of common scenario’s that SharePoint Admins should consider regardless of which version of SharePoint you are on such as SQL, Farm Management and Configuration and IIS hosting. We will also look at some of the configuration considerations and the impact that can have in both on Prem and hybrid scenario’s such as https and connectivity plus I will dive into some migration considerations for those on SharePoint 2007 and 2010 and what options you will have going forward. Finally we will have a quick comparison look between SharePoint on Prem and SharePoint Online from an Administrative perspective.

John Timney – Office365 compliance, including Brexit and what it may mean for the enterprise
This session provides a top down view of the Office 365 Compliance Center, delivered by Office Server and Services MVP John Timney. A business and operations focused session describing why we need to understand the key aspects of this service around archiving and retention, e-discovery, advanced e-discovery and audit. The session considers not only the features in Office 365, but the issue of legality, EU Compliance and the EU-US Privacy Shield, data sovereignty and the possible impact of Brexit on service owners. If you work in a regulated industry and are considering or have already adopted Office 365 and Azure then this is a must see session to ready you for a compliant business.
