Session

Unfortunately, due to a clash with Easter Holidays, we do not have enough registrations to run this event.  We look forward to seeing you all in June.

We are proud to host one of the leading SQL experts around, Steve Dixon. For one night only, he will be presenting a SQL Spectacular at the North West SharePoint User Group.

SQL is, arguably, the most important piece of infrastructure in SharePoint so you want to make sure you get it right. Tonight, Steve will take us on a journey of SQL best practices, service hardening, high availability and disaster recovery.

Note: This is Wednesday 12th April!

About Steve

I am the original computer “Geek” in that I find technology fascinating and intriguing. I love it when I see technology that works well.

I got my first computer when I was 12 and wrote my first App. Since then I have been hooked on technology and passionate about gadgets.

In my first job, I designed and implemented a small relational database using MS Quick Basic on MS DOS (Pre-Windows). I discovered a talent for designing and working with Databases starting with MS Access 1 and working with SQL Server since version 5. I have had worked in several different types of SQL Farms from small farms of just a couple of instances to large farms with over 30,000 SQL Instances and highly available solutions for mission critical systems for emergency services. I have spent 8 years at Microsoft, designing, implementing and supporting the back end SQL Instances for their Online Office 365 Services.

I enjoy gaming with friends and family with Elite being my most favourite game since it came out on the BBC Micro.

I loved Cornwall so much that we all moved down about 10 years ago and spend spare time sightseeing and relaxing in one of Cornwall 400 beaches.
